Steamcon is one of the largest, and longest running steampunk conventions in the world, located in Bellevue, WA on the weekend of Halloween! We hope to see you there...
Saturday, Sept. 14th:
This month events start off at 2:00 pm with local Steampunk authors, Jonathan Burgess and J. Cunningham. They'll be reading selections from their books and signing copies!
At 6:00 pm the main event, the Geek Bingo for Charity will be held in the back of the store. For those of you unfamiliar with Geek Bingo, it's just like regular bingo but with geeky terms instead of numbers. Cards are a dollar a piece and all proceeds go towards supporting the Seattle Browncoats. Seattle Browncoat Charities support other local charities; this quarter the money will go towards feeding the needy through Northwest Harvest. Come, have a good time, play for prizes, and know that your donations will be doing good!

Try on new and one-of-a-kind products as local Steampunk clothier Lastwear brings out their best to show off. Come play dress up!
Wednesday Craft Nights!
Sept. 11th, 7pm: Make folding fans and learn Victorian fan language.
Learn how to make a folding fan and how to flirt with it. All materials will be provided, but everyone is encouraged to bring fabrics and trims of their choosing, as well as paints, glitter, beads, sequins, and other decorative whatnots. All skill levels are welcome.
Your kit will contain all of the following items:
Lace or other trim
Needle and thread
Instructions for making the fan, and basic fan flirting language
Cost for the class, including the kit, is $25 per person. Persons wishing to purchase all their own materials, and not use a kit, will receive a discount.
Sept. 18th, 6pm: Mad hatting party with Avery Milieu. Get ready for Around the World Steamcon!
Make a fascinator for $30 for buckram frame, fabric, and choice of trims. She'll have paper maps to cut up, fabrics from around the world, and everything to compliment your Steamcon outfit!
Sept. 25th, 6:30pm: Crocheted flowers with Ruth Cohen of Scarlet Rabbit.
$12 for a completed flower brooch! She'll show you how to crochet your own, and have a few crocheted to sew together for you non-crocheters!
